Veneers and Cosmetic Laminates
Porcelain veneers offer the ultimate in cosmetic dentistry. A veneer is a thin porcelain facing or covering that bonds to the natural tooth structure. We can match them to your natural or desired tooth color for a uniform, authentic appearance. Porcelain veneers are also highly stain-resistant and may actually strengthen your natural teeth. A much more conservative alternative to crowns (caps) that can give you the smile you have always dreamed of and deserve.
There are many reasons you might consider porcelain veneers, but if you have any of the following dental problems, you may find them especially helpful.
• Dull or stained teeth
• Crowded or crooked teeth
• A gap between your front teeth
• Misshapen teeth
• Chipped or broken teeth
What’s the process to get dental veneers?
Getting dental veneers usually requires two visits to complete the process, with little anesthesia required during the procedure. For porcelain veneers, the teeth are prepared by lightly buffing and shaping the surface to allow for the thickness of the veneer. A mold or impression of the teeth is taken and a shade (color) will then be chosen by you and the dentist. The molds are then sent to our lab to be custom made for you.
On the second visit the teeth will be cleansed with special liquids to achieve a durable bond. Bonding cement is then placed between the tooth and veneer and a special light is used to harden and set the bond.
You will receive care instructions for dental veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new veneers. The results are simply gorgeous!
